Neven Alujević je diplomirao zrakoplovstvo na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu, Fakultet strojarstva i brodogradnje 2004. godine radom na temu dinamičkog modeliranja podvozja putničkog zrakoplova. (“Dinamički model elastično-prigušnog elementa podvozja putničkog zrakoplova”).
2008. doktorirao je u području zvuka i vibracija na Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) University of Southampton (UK). Njegov doktorski studij na ISVR bio je financiran kroz EU-FP6 programme pod shemom Research and Training Network “European Doctorate in Sound and Vibration Studies “(EDSVS). Njegov doktorski rad je na temu automatske regulacije provođenja zvuka kroz zrakoplovni dvostruki panel.
Od studenog 2008. to listopada 2010. radio je kao postdoktorski istraživač pri Research group System Reliability, Adaptive Structures, and Machine Acoustics SAM – na Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUD) – Njemačka. Taj istraživački rad bio je sponzoriran kroz EU-FP6 Smart Structures projekt. Radio je na primjeni hibridne aktivne/pasivne jedinice za atenuaciju vibracija s rotirajućeg stroja na podlogu.
Od studenog 2010. do kolovoza 2012. radio je kao viši asistent na Fakultetu elektrotehnike, strojarstva i brodogradnje – Sveučilište u Splitu – RH. Bio je angažiran na nastavnim i znanstvenim aktivnostima u području mehatronike, zvuka i vibracija. Uz pomoć agencije (HAMAG-BICRO) izradio je prototip naprednog panela za automatsku regulaciju transmisije zvuka.
Od rujna 2012. do ožujka 2016. bio je postdoktorski istraživač na Production Engineering, Machine Design and Automation (PMA) Section – Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) – Belgium uz sponzorstvo EU-FP7 kroz TIRE-DYN projekt, te kasnije kroz druge Flamanske IWT Strategisch Basisonderzoek (SBO) and SOC Maakindustrie programe. Bio je član grupe Noise and Vibration Research Group koju vodi Professor Wim Desmet. Radio je na različitim problemima iz područja zvuka i vibracija, uključujući i dinamiku rotirajućih pneumatika vozila
U travnju 2016, pridružio se Zavodu za brodogradnju na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu, Fakultet strojarstva i brodogradnje kao postdoktorski istraživač na projektu STARMAS. STARMAS je bio Intra European Fellowships (IEF) projekt financiran kroz H2020 Marie Skłodowska Curie program Europske komisije.
U rujnu 2016. izabran je za docenta na Zavodu za tehničkiu mehaniku na Sveučilištu u Zagrebu, Fakultet strojarstva i brodogradnje.
